It was my pleasure meeting Col. Alfred Merrill "Al" Worden - American astronaut and engineer who was the Command Module Pilot for the Apollo 15 lunar mission in 1971. One of only 24 people to have flown to the Moon, he orbited it 74 times in the Command Module Endeavour. 🛰️
During Apollo 15's return flight to Earth, Worden performed an extravehicular activity to retrieve film cassettes from the exterior of the spacecraft, the command and service module. It was the first "deep space" EVA in history, at great distance from any planetary body. As of 2019, it remains one of only three such EVAs which have taken place, all during the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Apollo program's J-missions.

He is also Chair of the Council of the European Space Agency - ESA and President of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). (Akshaya Patra is an Indian NGO that runs the world’s largest Mid-Day Meal Programme. Till now they have served over 3 Billion Meals).

I worked my way through the World Government Summit 2022 (Invited by the UAE Prime Minister's Office) in #Dubai. And was lucky enough to participate, meet and chat with a lot of smart people...representing various governments across the globe - from various industries (#Aviation, #Space, #Cybersecurity, etc).
The world is tackling a gamut of #globalchallenges today and the role of governments has become more critical than ever. This Summit has bought together thought leaders from across the globe to shape the next generation of governments.
